Lynton Levengood is a talented Concept Artist ,3D modeler and Texture Artist who has worked for Character Matters Animation Studio since September 2007.


I have with me 7 years’ experience in the animation industry. In review of my resume, you will note my growth and experience. What it cannot illustrate, however, is the degree of dedication, passion, and creativity that I can offer. I enjoy a creative environment that can offer me the opportunity to develop my career further and add value to the organization.

2005-2007 Completed 3year animation course at The Animation School (UCAA), Woodstock, Cape Town. http://www.theanimationschool.co.za .

He showed strength in concept art, texturing, modeling and animation and was involved in the schools flagship animation "Rocky Run".

Employment History

2007

- Starts internship at Character Matters as background character animator and promoted to animating several primary shots in the "Lion of Judah" feature film. Other tasks included Render Managment and Lighting.


2008

- Promoted to Head of Concept Art for the 'Zoovolution' Pilot. Headed a team of artists designing characters, environments and props. On completion of concept art phase he filled a position on the animation team.

-Lead Concept Artist in the pre-production of "Bethlehem or Bust"(working title) producing a large body of work, including enviroment-, character- and high detail digital paintings.


2009

-Lead Concept and texture aritst on 'Gijima' short film. Also put together a Character Matters texture Library and streamlined the Texture Pipline.


- Introduced Matte paintings and general quality boost on Stereoscopic re-render of 'Lion of Judah'.


-Designed a complete character library for the animated series "Quirky Land" (working title) which is being used for presentation to the entertainment industry in Norway and around the world.


2010

-Lead Concept Artist and Lead Texture artist on the "Hooked" short. Responsibilities included visual development of the production, overseeing and training a team of texture artists and character modelers, Ensuring that the work produced was of an international standard; the highest standard yet produced at Character Matters Animation Studios.


2011- Continued as Lead Concept artist on various projects including 'Ellabie and Friends' and the preproduction of studio project 'Unsung Hero' of which he is also director. 


2012-- Continued work on Unsung hero. Did after hours freelance illustration work for Via Afrika Publishers as well as completing two comissioned puzzles for Ravensburger Toys ( Germany).

Also his illustration 'Junkyard Dragon' made it into page 104 of the Ballistic Publication's 'Exposè10'.


2013 – present – Successfully completed work on Unsung Hero. Produced Concept art for various productions for “The DreamVision Company”.



Lynton's exceptional artistic abilities and working knowledge of the animation pipeline and requirements and his strong desire and passion to improve as an artist enables him rise to any creative challenge.
